How do you create a safe and controlled environment for your contestents?
Answer: We don't! Living in America these days is pretty much a gamble anyway, but we just turn the cameras on and award prizes for surviving.

It's tough enough running from suspected terrorists, but the pressure is really on once you reach the santuary of your fallout shelter. A gross assortment of spam, powdered milk, and bull spleen (hey, for old time's sake) await...
FEAR FACTOR: What were you thinking when you were face-to-face with a radical Muslim who was filled with anti-Americanism? Were you thinking you could survive, or was it just like, "Oh, God, there's no way."
OLIVIA JONES: I honestly just wanted to say, "Hey, maybe we can work things out here, sir." But things were happening so fast I only had time to react. I mean, it looked really difficult and it was. It was tough.
FEAR FACTOR: And how tough was eating the food in your terror kit once you made it back to your fallout shelter?
OLIVIA JONES: It was really gross. I wanted to win the money so I just had to strategize. I don't know what it was I was eating -- the spleen, the slimy gross Spam, or something else - but I had to get it wet and slobby so it could go down. Oh my God, it was nasty. It was choking me, but I just did it, man. It was nasty.
FEAR FACTOR: So you mixed the dry foods with the wet foods?
OLIVIA JONES: Yes. The spleen was really, really dry so I just had to mix it up with the others. The Spam was slobbery and disgusting. I just had to squeeze it all together and get it down. It was nasty.
