The heat is ON
The Bush Administration is feeling it from all directions right now.
Donald Rumsfield lied before a senate committee this week with regards to when the Bush administration found out their Nuclear claims were false is just the start of this dandy little show.
Colin Powell is busy doing damage control saying that President Bush’s State of the Union false accusations was “an honest mistake”…
Meanwhile, on the side of the ball — the progressives, the liberals, the Democrats and the Greens are finally waking up from what appears to be a 10 year slumber (when they lost the house of represenatitives to the Republicans) and are on the offensive over this. Most vocal, of course, are the presidential contenders. Howard Dean being the most blunt, by first providing a timeline of deciteful tactics by the Bush Administration over this Nuclear claims and then by releasing a public statement, going so far as encouraging (if not demanding) the resignations of those who fed the president with false information (view the candidates hyperlink for exact quotes).
You know, I said a few weeks ago that I was hoping the media would get on Bush’s back much like they did with Clinton and that terrible period of media during the impeachment proccedings. That may not be very far from the truth if the pressure keeps getting laid on Bush and Co.
